Certificate in Advanced English and other International Qualifications in English

13-17 June, 2016

With increased internationalisation comes greater interest, throughout Europe, in demonstrating language competence through internationally recognised examinations. The Cambridge Certificates in English are acknowledged measures of quality where the English language is concerned. For students in Europe, the addition of the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is an important complement to their home country’s qualifications.

This course aims, in the first instance, to familiarise participants with the CAE, to enable them  to prepare pupils for this examination. Participants work with the component elements of the CAE: Reading, Writing, Use of English, Listening and Speaking, examining how to teach effectively, how to choose material and projects, as well as how to assess and grade pupil performance. In addition to this focus on the CAE, an overview of the content of other Cambridge examinations, such as FCE and CPE, and the internationally increasingly significant IELTS, will be given.

The course is being organised in collaboration with Bell International in Cambridge and is relevant for teachers of students aged 16-18 and for adult education.

Bell International offers certificated courses in CAE and other examinations and has many years’ experience of delivering professional development courses for teachers.
